Summary Fazl says troubles are bound to come whether FATA merges with KP or it stays separate
PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazl ur-Rehman has on Sunday said that the people of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) will be asked for a permanent solution once their life standards will have improved within five to ten years. He said that troubles were bound to come whether FATA merges with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or remains separate, reported Dunya News.
Addressing the lawyers’ convention at JUI secretariat in Peshawar, Fazl said that the summary regarding FATA reforms had been removed from the cabinet agenda but there is agreement on the issue now and it is resolved. The summary will now be presented in the coming cabinet meeting.
Fazl said that the decisions are made in democracy with negotiations. He said that the decision on the future of FATA will be taken after wider dialogue with the people of FATA. “Summary is ready and it has been agreed upon. You won’t hear the word ‘merger’ from now on. Instead the word ‘national mainstream’ will be used more often now”, he said.
He further stated that the issue will be discussed once again after five years. These decisions will be presented for approval in the next cabinet meeting now.
