Summary Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South has confirmed the incident

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Spokesperson for Special Security Unit (SSU), Mukhtiar Memon alias Raja Memon was found involved in a firing incident that was reported in Zamzama area as attendees of a dance party brawled last night.

Police are reportedly suppressing the issue as spokesman for SSU is allegedly involved in unlawful gun fires and brawl.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South has confirmed the incident as personnel have recovered shells at the crime site. Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) has taken notice of the issue and ordered authorities concerned to file a report. 

A targeted operation is underway in Karachi since 2013 which is led by Pakistan Rangers to beat growing crime incidence in the metropolis. Sindh Police among other law enforcement agencies are fighting target killers and extremists in Karachi besides pursuing crackdown against betting joints and drugs.

Firing incident in Zamzama area has come in amidst operations against criminals across the city where law enforcers have to impose Section-144 on ceremonial days of the year to foil terror bids.
