Summary Newly-built embassy would be inaugurated in Diplomatic Enclave is likely to be inaugurated
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Foreign Office (FO) has reported on Sunday that President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to visit Pakistan on January 30 on a three-day visit.
Palestinian president will be accompanied by a delegation of five ministers among 17 officials. Besides delegation-level talks, the visiting president will convene a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
It is expected that the newly-built embassy would be inaugurated in Diplomatic Enclave during Abbas’s visit.
This is going to be the third visit of Palestinian president to Pakistan after once in 2005 and the latest in 2013.
Pakistan extends support to Palestine for an independent state and has voiced its stance on different international platforms. Government of Pakistan had gifted a plot of land in 1992 to Palestine for construction of an embassy, the same one that is likely to be inaugurated.
