ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer has continued arguments in Supreme Court (SC) in Panama Leaks case.

A five-member larger bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa resumed the hearing of Panama Papers case. Other judges in the bench include Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan.

Earlier, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa had said that PM’s speeches would be analysed from all angles in next hearing.

Justice Khosa said that arguments presented in court and the speech delivered by the PM in parliament are different.

Justice Khosa directed the PM’s lawyer Makhdoom Ali Khan to take court into confidence by clearing the confusions.

Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that the bench wants to know the source of Rs510 million that Hussain Nawaz gifted to his father over a period of four years.

"Why did Hussain Nawaz only give gifts to his father?" Justice Ijazul Hassan asked.

Justice Khosa asked that: "Has the father ever asked his sons where the money is coming from?. Makhdoom Ali Khan told the court that the money is made from the businesses of Sharif family.

He further remarked that apparently, it shows good intentions that details of every asset was provided in the income tax returns.

People illegally sent money abroad and later some of it was remitted back, he added.
