Summary Indus Hospital, Sindh Government Hospital will test patients using kits for diagnosis
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Two months ago, Chikungunya virus broke out in Karachi, especially in the Malir area and places nearby. The patients suffering from this virus are still under treatment.
No arrangements had been made in the provincial capital of Sindh for diagnosis of Chikungunya previously and blood samples of patients were sent to National Institute of Health in Islamabad.
However, the necessary preparations have been made for diagnosis of Chikungunya within Karachi city. Kits for the identification of virus have been made available in Indus Hospital. 250 patients will be treated with these kits in Sindh Government Hospital, Saudabad
According to Saudabad Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS), the test kits for chikungunya are expensive and have been arranged by Indus Hospital. It costs around five to six thousand rupees to test single patient using these kits.
