Summary Decisions will be made by court not NAB, officers will be ineligible for life after corruption

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – President Mamnoon Hussain passed amendment ordinance of 2017 in relevance to accountability by which National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will no longer have right to plea bargain.

According to the presidential ordinance, plea bargain right of NAB chairman can no longer be exercised. Anyone who allows plea bargain will be dismissed from office and declared ineligible for life.

Plea bargain can only be allowed by court. Moreover, the presidential ordinance will be presented in Senate on January 9 to make it an act of parliament. The ordinance will be made part of accountability law after being presented in parliamentary committee.

After approval from the National Assembly, the ordinance will become an act of parliament.
