Summary Police officers also involved in the racket, five including DHA police station officials arrested
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Five have been arrested in relation to the sale of drugs in educational institutions including officials of DHA police station. The reports suggest that police officers are also involved with the students in this racket. It has also been revealed that drugs were also being sold in girls’ colleges in the form of chewing gums, reported Dunya News.
The racket was revealed recently when two of the students died due to the use of these drugs. The relatives refused any kind of police action but when the police investigated the matter on its own, a student named Azeem was arrested from DHA area.
Azeem revealed the information about his aides during the interrogation. Four of these aides were also arrested in the raids that followed. Those arrested turned out to be DHA police station’s employees. These officials include Munawwar, Nasir, Jamshed and Urooj Yaqoob Masih.
One of Azeem’s aides was Moeed, also a student, who provided him with cocaine, hashish and ice in connivance with the police officials. According to police officials, the crackdown wasn’t in relation to any particular incident. However, the black sheep present within the department are also being rounded up.
So far, eight suspects have been arrested in this case while three different cases have been registered.
