LAHORE (Dunya News) – Dunya News has unearthed another mega fraud in which officials of treasury office and civil court colluded with each other and embezzled Rs 1.41 crore of litigants.

The misappropriation through fake directives written on a plain register was started in 2005 when Saleem Shahid purchased a land from Shaheen Noor-ud-Din that sparked dispute, forcing the land’s owner to approach Lahore High Court.

Saleem deposited Rs13.1 million on the directives of court as a guaranty to show his seriousness in the case. The money vouchers were instantly submitted to court’s treasury office, but the victim didn’t get justice.

In 2011, Saleem died while fighting for his right after which his family requested the court to finish the case hearing at earliest but the legal proceeding again faced delay.

However, in 2015 court restored deceased’s old degree and the matter was mutually resolved between both parties.

Saleem’s brother Kashif went to treasury office to take back the money where he came to know that only Rs 1 million is present in the account instead of Rs13.1 million.

Dunya News exposed that prime suspect Rana Ishtiaq planned the mega scam whereas the cheques were issued on the names of Nawazish, Dr Syed Akmal Hussain, Nazeeran Bibi, Zaka-ud-Din, Khurram Zahoor and Zahida Bibi.

It was revealed that Rana Ishtiaq and his accomplices tricked Saleem and withdrew Rs2 million in 2004 and Rs3.5 million in 2005.

The fraud has left Saleem’s widow and family in deep shock and raised many questions that how can anyone withdraw money from bank without court’s order.

Meanwhile, deceased’s lawyer said that they won the house but lost the amount.

The victim family has urged Chief Justice of Lahore High Court to take notice and ensure justice to them.
