Afghan leadership invites Army Chief to visit Afghanistan

Summary COAS Gen Qamar Bajwa called political and military leadership in Afghanistan for peace prospects

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – According to the newly appointed Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa telephoned Afghan president Ashraf Ghani on Saturday, reported Dunya News.

The army chief also made successive calls to the Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah and his Afghan counterpart General Qadam Shah Rahim.

Gen Qamar Bajwa congratulated the Afghan leadership of New Year and urged them for joint action to ensure peace and prosperity of Afghanistan.

It was said that peace between both countries is in the best interest of the region.



Moreover, DG ISPR tweeted, “COAS said that peace in both countries is in greater interest of the region. Afghan leadership invited COAS for a visit to Afghanistan.”
