Summary Hashmi says Imran wanted to attack parliament, planned to overthrow govt with the help of judiciary
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Veteran politician Javed Hashmi has on Thursday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan had told him during the 2014 sit-in that the party would take over power after a 90-day martial law imposed by the judiciary. He said that Imran wanted to attack parliament and planned to overthrow the government with judiciary’s help, reported Dunya News.
Talking on Dunya News program ‘On the Front’, Javed Hashmir said that Imran Khan wanted to attack the parliament and he had an understanding with Chief Justice as well and General Tariq was his aide in the conspiracy.
The senior politician from Multan said that Imran Khan himself told him that there would be a 90-day judicial martial law and then the party would take over through an election. “Arif Alvi, Shafqat Mahmood and Sheerin Mazari said that the things were out of control”.
According to Hashmi, Imran told him all this and that he was ready to say all this before Imran Khan holding Koran in his hand.
PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry kept denying the allegations during the program. He said that there were no such discussions on party level. He said that Hashmi should have highlighted it in the party meetings.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qamar uz-Zaman Kaira, who was also present in the program, said that Javed Hashmi’s testimony was huge.
Hashmi has been extremely critical of PTI leadership in the past as well.
