Lack of resources ruined Karachi for past eight years: Waseem Akhtar

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar on Wednesday has once again complained about limited resources and said local governments are not being allowed to flourish.

He was addressing a ceremony held at a private school in Tahir Villa Chowrangi of Federal B. Area, Karachi.

Waseem Akhtar said that people have elected him as the mayor of Karachi but his hands have been tied by the government to do any work for his people.

 He said that Karachi is presenting a picture of destruction and ruining.

However, the mayor seemed happy on the support that is being given to him by people. He said that I am very glad to see East district’s people working shoulder to shoulder with me in the cleanliness campaign.

“It is our own duty to keep our city clean and build a healthy society, doesn’t matter government is not helping us”, he added.

He said that children possess awareness that society requires.

“Those who want to criticize me should pick up the political leaders for their bashing, as I am not doing politics, I am just serving my people and trying to do good work”, he said.

Waseem Akhtar also expressed determination to eliminate corruption from institutions.
