Summary PPP says corruption will see new horizons once five regulatory bodies given under ministries
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has decided to move court against the decision to bring five autonomous regulatory bodies under the ministries’ control. The party said that the decision was going to open new horizons of corruption. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan also expressed displeasure over the decision, reported Dunya News.
The decision has put three major opposition parties off. Jamaat Islami (JI) chief Siraj ul-Haq also rejected the decision, saying that it must be debated in Senate and National Assembly. He said that it is tantamount to robbing the people of their right. He further said that the decision would damage the independence of the regulatory bodies.
Imran Khan, on the other hand, has said that the rulers are trying to convert the democracy into a dictatorship. He added that the independence of the regulatory bodies had been curbed by bringing them under the ministries.
