ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Tuesday are hopeful that Supreme Court would announce verdict in Panamagate case soon instead of making commission.
Talking to media outside the court, PTI lawyer Fawad Chaudhry said that Maryam Safdar is dependant of his father Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and beneficial owner of his properties.
He said the court rejected trust deed submitted by Akram Sheikh, saying it would not be accepted until its registeration.
Meanwhile, Naeem-ul-Haq said he is satisfied as the court heard arguments attentively. He said SC was informed about the whole story.
On the other hand, SC said National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) should be closed if they are not functioning well.
A five-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of the Panama Papers case.
The Chief Justice said the court will thoroughly review everyone’s stance, and decision to form commission will be made at an appropriate time.
We will first hear respondents’ arguments, he remarked.
