Summary Waziristan network of Taliban is active again, 12-member group arrived to collect extortion money
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – A 12-member group of terrorists from Taliban’s Waziristan network has become active against and is collecting extortion money from the traders. The network was revealed by the arrested terrorist of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), reported Dunya News.
The arrested commander of TTP Taj ud-Din has made important revelations during the interrogation. He admitted that the banned outfits were financially weak due to Operation Zarb-e-Azb and that was why they were looking to generate funds through extorting Karachi traders. He also revealed that he was an expert at preparing suicide bombers. Taj revealed that Akbar and Asif facilitated them in Karachi.
Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested five terrorist arriving in Karachi from Waziristan while raids are being conducted to arrest the other seven. CTD officials told that the terrorists were in contact with aides in Waziristan via internet.
