ECC relaxes gas tariff for industries by Rs 200/million cubic ft

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has relaxed gas tariff on Friday for industrial customers by Rs 200 per million cubic ft.

A meeting of the committee was chaired by Federal Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar in Islamabad during which the decision was made. According to a notification issued after the meeting, gas tariff has been set at Rs 400/million cubic ft from previous Rs 600/million cubic ft for industries including fertilizer manufacturers.

The committee also decided to make goods tax-free for quake-affectees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The decision is to be implemented on aid by Saudi Development Department.

A 30-day extension for exporters of wheat was also granted by the Economic Coordination Committee.

The meeting also settled an outstanding dispute between Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) and Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) over dues worth Rs 27 billion while Sindh Government would be paying the dues in installments within six months.
