LAHORE (Web Desk) – Over 400 death row convicts involved in different terror attacks, murders and other heinous crimes have been executed in Punjab in past two years.
According to details, more 5,173 inmates are still in various jails of Punjab while the mercy pleas of 350 others are under hearing at Supreme Court and High Court.
Some suspects are still facing punishment despite end of their trials while few jailbirds are waiting for final decision in their cases.
On the other hand, suspects’ families have also demanded the higher officials to resolve the matters as early as possible whereas millions of rupees are being allocated for the security of these criminals every month.
Meanwhile, Inspector General for Prisons Mian Farooq Nazeer assured that criminal activities have reduced due to penalties.
