No public holiday on Nov 9, confirms Interior Ministry

Summary An official notification for demolishing the public holiday had already been made, reveals Ministry

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Ministry for Interior has denied the news circulating within the media that declared Nov 9 as public holiday.

The Ministry spokesperson revealed that an official notification for demolishing the public holiday had already been made and hence, there was no need to make an official announcement once again.

Moreover, the ministry also declared the already viral notification as completely fake.

“We have not issued any notification,” confirms the Ministry spokesperson.

The Interior Ministry also let it be known that Cyber Crime Cell of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been assigned the responsibility to make necessary investigations against those who issued fake notification.

Nov 9 is also proclaimed as  Iqbal Day  that is celebrated every year to pay homage to the greatest poet and thinker Allama Iqbal, who was born on Nov 9, 1877.
