Summary Dr Sattar was hopeful that Mayor of Karachi, Waseem Akhtar would also be released soon

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Rauf Siddique and Anees Qaimkhani of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) were released from Central Jail after they were granted bails in terror case against Dr Asim Hussain, former petroleum minister.

Siddique walked out of the prison over bail after around three months and 12 days of imprisonment. He was welcomed by workers and leaders of MQM including Dr Farooq Sattar as he arrived in PIB Colony.

While talking to the media, Dr Sattar was hopeful that Mayor of Karachi, Waseem Akhtar would also be released soon.

It should be mentioned here that Akhtar was elected as the mayor of the city whilst is incarceration.

Dr Asim was arrested by Rangers in August last year under their exclusive policing powers and after 90-day remand expired, a case was lodged against him in North Nazimabad Police Station over alleged terror facilitation.
