Journalism student refuses to accept degree from KP Governor

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – One of the 476 students who graduated on Wednesday in University of Peshawar refused to ‘honour’ Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by refusing to have the degree awarded by him.

A convocation ceremony that was held in the university saw at least 476 students graduate out of whom 26 secured gold medals but one refused to think of Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, the KP governor and the Vice Chancellor of the institution as ‘honourable’ enough to be the chief guest of the ceremony.

The student of journalism alleged the governor of corruption. However. 476 students enrolled in MPhil, PhD and MA programmes in 2014 received their degrees while out of the total, 307 were women graduates.
