Summary Civil and military leadership met in a one-on-one session in the federal capital today

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif convened a meeting with the Prime Minister on Monday to discuss security situation of the country.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was briefed over situation at the Line of Control (LoC) and Indian unprovoked firing.

Separately, the Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan convened a meeting with the Prime Minister to brief him over progress in the probe regarding a controversial news story published in an English paper earlier this month.

A probe is underway that Nisar claimed on Thursday that would conclude within three to four days over a report that asserted of tensions between military and the civil leadership.

Earlier developments of the issue include the fact that the journalist was added to the Exit Control List (ECL) before the travel ban was lifted few days later over a backlash by journalists’ community.

The federal Interior Minister claimed in a press conference last week that the journalist was barred from leaving the country as he attempted to fly to Dubai.
