WASHINGTON (Web Desk) - Spokesperson for the United States Department of State John Kirby on Saturday insisted Pakistan and India to hold talks over Kashmir issue.

During a media briefing in Washington, John Kirby urged both countries to work together to resolve the issue amicably on bilateral basis.

"Our stance regarding the issue of Kashmir has not changed," said Kirby.

The leader also refrained from answering the questions related to Kashmir dispute that were asked by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in General Assembly of United Nations.

He said that anti-terrorism policy was important agenda in UN General Assembly session.

Responding to a question asked a reporter, John Kirby said that USA was closely watching the unrest that took place in Karachi.

He said that we were fully aware of demolishment of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) offices in parts of Pakistan and detention of leaders for vandalism in Karachi.

On the other hand, PM Nawaz would leave for New York today to talk on Kashmir issue at international level.

He will also remind UN to fulfill its promise to give right of self determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir as per UN Security Council resolutions.

The Prime Minister will also participate in the high-level meeting of the General Assembly to address Large Movements of Refugees and Migrants and the Leaders’ Summit on Refugees.
