Summary It is for first time in 25 years that some people tried to hold Karachi hostage but failed to do so

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has on Wednesday said that it will be clear soon how many Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will there be, reported Dunya News.

He said that the attack on media houses was condemnable. He added that the people of Karachi did a great job by not allowing certain elements to hold the city hostage for the first time in 25 years.

Talking to media after meeting Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, Nisar said that the leader of a political party spat venom against Pakistan. He said that he couldn’t comprehend why Altaf Hussain, leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), resorted to such words.

“Urdu-speaking people are the most patriots of all the Pakistanis. No Urdu-speaking person would ever support such a statement by the MQM chief. Their past and future are associated with Pakistan only”, said Chaudhry Nisar.

The interior minister added that all security forces have been instructed not to harass anyone under any condition. “Some elements will now try to give an impression that it is a conflict between Pakistan and the Urdu-speaking people. But the people of Karachi have already dispelled this impression by not paying heed to the call for spreading chaos in the city”, he said.

Chaudhry Nisar added that Pakistan government will share the evidence with British government and footages will also be sent to them. "We have already told the British government to take legal action based on the evidence we shared", he said.

He further said that all four Chief Ministers (CMs) shall be summoned to Islamabad in a few days  time in order to have a meeting to discuss the security situation.
