Summary Allegations of making investigation of May 12 riots as political are wrong, says Malir SSP Invest.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police made important breakthrough in the investigation of May 12, 2007, riots in Karachi as the list of 47 individuals behind the unrest has been prepared whereas the final list shall also be prepared soon, reported Dunya News.
Malir Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Rao Anwar stated an initial list regarding the names of individuals behind spreading the unrest has been prepared, adding that the list contained 47 names. He added that the investigation of the case has been widened to an extent that interrogation shall also take place from former Town nazims.
Malir SSP Investigations Malik Altaf said that the allegation of making the investigation of the May 12 riots as political was not correct. He stated that raids shall be conducted in order to apprehend the individuals named in the final list.
Riots in Karachi on May 12, 2007, upon the arrival of then Chief Justice (CJ) Iftikhar Chaudhry left 52 dead and numerous injured.
