SC issues notice to KP Chief Secretary for not releasing funds for MPAs

Summary JUI-F MPA says KP CM released funds worth Rs 320 million for a district administrator

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) on Friday issued notices to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Secretary and Special Secretary of KP Chief Minister (CM) for not issuing funds to Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs), reported Dunya News.

Giving remarks upon the application of the very issue presented in the SC by Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Malik Riaz, Justice Tariq Pervaiz stated that the MPAs should raise their voice in the KP assembly if the provincial government does not release funds.

MPA Malik Riaz’s lawyer said that KP CM Pervaiz Khattak was not releasing funds for MPAs whereas funds worth Rs 320 million were released for a district administrator, further stating that the CM did not have such authorities

Justice Tariq Pervaiz enquired the reasons because of which the very MPA was protesting, further asking that which law stated that the Chief Minister could not release funds for a public representative.

The hearing of the case was postponed for a week.
