Summary ECP believed that RO and officials of Revenue Department were responsible for record loss: Report
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday submitted enquiry report in Supreme Court (SC) regarding the absence of electoral record from NA 110 also known as Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s constituency, reported Dunya News.
ECP believed that Returning Officer (RO) and officials of Revenue Department were responsible for the loss of electoral record. The report stated that laws and regulations to secure the record were totally ignored. It should be investigated that how Revenue Officer Asghar Mehar acquired the record without a detailed list, the report added.
The report also revealed that ECP had already requested Registrar Lahore High Court to take strict action against RO and Punjab Accountant General to take measures against officers of Revenue Department.
