Summary Senators' salary for July donated to foundation which will be utilised to buy ambulances: Rabbani

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Senate on Monday paid tribute to renowned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and unanimously passed a resolution to officially declare July 8 as Edhi day, reported DunyaNews.

The house also announced that every member will donate Rs 20,000 to Edhi Foundation on a monthly basis. The resolution was put forward by Leader of the House Raja Zafar-ul-Haq which had been passed unanimously.

Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani said that senators’ salary for the month of July had been donated to the foundation which will be utilised to buy new ambulances.

The resolution stated that Edhi served his entire life to support orphans and helpless people. Addressing the new generation, July 8 should be celebrated commemorating Edhi’s services for the society, the resolution stated.
