ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Syed Khurshid Shah on Monday expressed hope that the names of the to-be appointed members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) shall be finalised by Thursday, June 21, reported Dunya News.

Shah met Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and discussed about the names of the ECP members to be appointed and consulted about the meeting of the Opposition parties that is scheduled to take place on Thursday.

Qureshi appealed the government to appoint ECP members while remaining unbiased, adding that PTI members shall abide by the constitution according to the oath they took. PTI Vice-chairman said that the party will not back any undemocratic move.

Both leaders agreed that the appointment of unbiased and transparent ECP members was necessary to ensure free and fair elections and to restore the dignity of the Election Commission.
