Summary According to the constitution, those inviting martial law should be held guilty of treason: Fazal

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah on Friday criticised Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar over Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif’s controversial banners displayed across the country, reported Dunya News.

He said that Article 6 should be imposed on government officials who apparently were custodians of the constitution but did not take action against the culprits. Nisar would be held accountable if responsibleS of the act were not arrested soon, he added.

He declared the banners’ issue was more sensitive than Panama Leaks. For four days these banners mocked the politicians in Islamabad, Shah added.

Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Fazal-ur-Rehman questioned that why an issue was created out of a non-controversial personality.

According to the constitution, those inviting martial law should be held guilty of treason, he added.
