Summary 350 policemen had been deployed in different locations of the affected area

MUZAFFARABAD: Conditions remained strained on Sunday when severe tension between two political groups in District Haveli caused havoc leaving 35 shops burned in Gadgar and heavy damage to vehicles, reported Dunya News.

3 were reported dead while 17 were injured in heavy clashes and firing between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) workers. Markets and business centers remained closed due to heightening tussle between party workers. Traffic was also shut down temporarily while the government had to call special police contingents from other districts to control the situation.

350 policemen have been deployed in different locations of the affected area. Taking immediate action over the incident, Azad Kashmir Chief Election Commissioner Mustafa Mughal directed Haveli Deputy Commissioner to submit a detailed report in this matter.

Forward Kahuta police had registered one case of the incident under section 302 attempt to murder against Minister for Electricity Faisal Rathore and PPP candidate from LA 16 Tariq Saeed including 12 other people, while no section has been registered in the second case filed against 44 others. However, no suspect has been arrested yet.
