KARACHI (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Khattak on Sunday paid visit to the residence of late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi along with Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah and condoled over Edhi’s death with his son, Faisal Edhi, reported Dunya News.

While conversing with the media, Sindh CM stated that the province was not getting its share of the National Finance Commission (NFC) award from the federal government, adding that KP CM gets the share for his province whenever he expresses anger over the federation.

Pervaiz Khattak stated that the federation was involved in stealing electricity generated in his province, further stating that Sindh should get its share according to the constitution. He declared Kalabagh dam issue as a ‘stunt’. Both CMs stated that they will not compromise over the rights of their provinces.

Earlier, KP CM paid visit to Edhi’s tomb and placed a floral wreath there. Khattak said that Abdul Sattar Edhi’s services can never be forgotten. He stated that the late philanthropist’s mission shall be carried on; further stating that KP government shall allocate land to Edhi foundation at no charges.

He also announced that a university in the province shall also be named after the humanitarian.

Air vice-marshal Salman Ahsan Bukhari also paid visit to Edhi’s tomb and presented a guard of honour. Bukhari said that Edhi was the pride of the nation, adding that the nation should follow his footsteps to take the country out of the many challenges it faced.

Furthermore, Opposition leader Syed Khurshid Shah, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar and Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif’s wife Tehmina Durrani also paid visit to Edhi’s residence and condoled over his death with his family members.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) also paid tribute to Edhi by renaming the Karachi Hockey Club stadium as Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium.
