Summary Different trains scheduled to leave from Karachi were delayed following the accident
KOTRI (Dunya News) – Four coaches of a Zakariya Express enroute Multan from Karachi derailed near Kotri Railways Station late at night however, all passengers remained safe, reported Monday.
According to the authorities, a mechanical snag resulted in the accident and several trains that were barred from moving following the accident are on their way now.
Rescue teams were dispatched immediately after authorities learnt about the news. The track was cleared after around eight hours by the teams concerned.
Khyber Express, Khushhal Khan Khattak Express, Bolan Express and Sukkur Express were not permitted to depart from Karachi station until after clearance.
Hazara and Shalimar Express were stopped in Hyderabad and a train arranged exclusively for Eidul Fitr was stopped at Jhang Shahi Station before it reached Faisalabad.
Passengers that were supposed to move to different parts of the country from Karachi faced issues over the unforeseen delay.
