RAJANPUR (Dunya News) – New spate of floods hit areas of Rajanpur on Wednesday destroying crops, damaging houses and affecting thousands of people while several houses were reported collapsed after torrential rain in Bolan, reported Dunya News.
After heavy rains in Sulaiman Mountain Range, water in many streams and canals was breaching embankments. Floods in Kaha and Chachar caused severe damage to crops in Mozu Sawan as well.
Standing crops of rice, cotton and sugarcane were also destroyed by a new wave of floods causing loss of millions of rupees to farmers. Thousands of people including women and children were also reported homeless after ravaging floods as they had been forced to spend nights under an open sky.
No rescues teams, NGOs or administration reached the affected area after floods as people had been helping themselves, engaged in relief work.
On the other hand, Heavy rain in Balochistan caused floods in Nari Nadi, Bolan. The water had entered in Goth Kanwani and Goth Sona causing damage to many houses. People had been facing immense difficulties due to the absence of rescue teams.
