LAHORE (Dunya News) – As many as 85 out-of-turn promoted officers have decided to hold session at Badshahi Mosque in Lahore today (Wednesday) to discuss further strategy regarding the matter.

According to details, policemen who were demoted from Officers on Special Duty (OSD) post have said that Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif had himself promoted them. They said that the government should look into the issue.

It is pertinent to mention here that IG Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera made 85 senior police officers including 20 Superintendent of Police (SP) and 65 Deputy Superintendents of Police as Officers on Special Duty (OSD) but the decision was reversed as Supreme Court (SC) declared the promotions illegal.

The officers stated that the out-of-turn promotion issue was being heard in the Supreme Court (SC), further stating that Punjab IG’s decision to downgrade the officers was not a right judgment.

Sources told that these officers had captured wanted dacoits, murderers, terrorists, smugglers and other criminals.
