Summary Minor rise and fall in Saleem Chanda's voice noted during recording of his statement
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police for the first time used voice stress analyser while recording statement of eyewitness Saleem Chanda in the investigation of the Amjad Sabri murder case, reported Dunya News.
With the use of this technology, police officials would be able to determine whether Chanda was telling the truth or not while his statement was being recorded. The software was programmed in a way to tell whether a person was lying after analysing change in the frequency of the person’s voice.
Sindh police was given the voice stress analyser in the previous year. Chanda underwent the stress test in the presence of expert doctors and investigative officers, sources stated. The eyewitness’s pulse rate and the rise and fall of his voice were also recorded.
Sources indicated that Saleem Chanda stick with his previous statement whereas minor rise and fall in his voice was noted during the recording. Investigative sources stated that variation in Chanda’s may have occurred owing to the presence of police officers and pressure upon the eyewitness.
Saleem Chanda will undergo another voice stress analyser test in the upcoming days.
