ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Monsoon rain spell in the country will start from today (Monday).

According to Met office, in the next 24 hours widespread rain and dust-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds is expected in Sibbi, Makran, Kalat, Nasirabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir.

Scattered rain and dust-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds is expected in Quetta, Zhob divisions, Lower Sindh, South Punjab.

Isolated rain and dust-thunderstorm with few heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds is expected in KP, Upper Sindh and FATA.

The Met office has advised the concerned authorities to remain alert during the week due to high risk of flash flooding in big cities.

Rains are likely to start from upper parts of the country and will spread towards the central and southern parts during the week.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Monday morning:

Islamabad 27°C, Lahore 31°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 28°C, Quetta 26°C, Gilgit 18°C, Murree 20°C and Muzaffarabad 25°C.
