Punjab Assembly: APCA clerks stage sit-in for a raise and benefits

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The very day when Punjab government was scheduled to present provincial budget for the fiscal year 2016-17, a large number of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) took out a procession and chanted slogans against Punjab government to press for their demands, reported Dunya News on Monday.

The demonstrators had demanded up-gradation of clerical staff and a parallel rise in their pays with respect to increasing inflation. 

The protestors vowed to continue their protest until their demands got approved and problems resolved by the government.

Punjab Opposition leader Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed also joined the sit-in in solidarity with the workers and demanded 20pc raise in their salaries.
