Court directs NAB to present all records related to Dr Asim case

Summary Decision made after contradiction in statements of witness and NAB record was noticed

KARACHI (Dunya News) – After finding contradiction in the statements given by one of the witnesses of the ongoing corruption case related to Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) incarcerated leader Dr Asim, the court has directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to present all records related to the case, reported Dunya News on Wednesday.

NAB presented Section officer Imad-ud-Din before the court as the third witness in regards to the case over Dr Asim s involvement in corruption worth Rs 462 billion. The investigative officer was asked to leave the court room before the statement given by the witness was recorded.

Imad stated that the documents related to the land allotment were handed over to NAB, adding that it was mentioned that two acres of land was present in the A sector. He further stated that Dr Asim had sent the summary for the nullification of the land allotment to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah but records related to it could be found.

The court directed NAB to bring all evidence related to the case after contradiction in the statement given by the witness and the record presented by NAB was noticed.
