Election Commission approves Rangers, army deployment during Sindh by-polls

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday approved the deployment of Rangers, army during by-polls in Sindh Assembly’s three constituencies.

The elections are due to be held in PS-106 and PS-117 constituency of Karachi and PS-22 Nowshehro Feroz on June 2.

In order to maintain law and order situation during polls, Returning Officers (RO), District Returning Officers (DRO) and provincial Election Commission requested for the deployment of Rangers and Army.

According to the notification issued by ECP, Rangers will be on duty inside and outside the polling stations whereas army will be appointed as Quick Response Force (QRF).
