SWAT (Dunya News) - Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif addressed a rally at Mingora in Swat. He criticised his political rivals and also announced several developmental projects in Swat, reported Dunya News on Friday.
PM said that the area still has schools, hospitals and roads in terrible shape whereas the change that was promised to the area is nowhere to be witnessed. Referring to his political adversaries and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in particular, he said that some people intend to hit the roads over every happening. He mocked his rivals by stating that he is constructing the roads for them so that they may keep demonstrating.
He said that Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital in Mingora is a gift to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from the people of Punjab. He added that people of Swat made a mistake in 2013 elections by falling for opponents propaganda. He said that the change introduced under his leadership is there to be witnessed in Punjab and Balochistan, further stating that similar change will be introduced in KP.
PM Nawaz announced that the Saidu Sharif Airport will be made functional once again and said that he shall return to Swat once again prior to the elections. He also announced various construction projects for the region, including a technical institute for the youth, a university sub-campus for women in Mingora and a university campus in Shangla. He stated that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) shall connect Basham with rest of the region, adding that this will play an important role in uplifting the entire region.
He said that the KP provincial government stood 4th in the recent local bodies elections. He also announced that loadshedding in the entire country will diminish till 2018.
Prior to attending this public gathering, PM Nawaz inaugurated the Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital in Mingora, Swat. He inquired the health of the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital and wished for their quick recovery.
