LAHORE (Dunya News) – Four protesters belonging to Punjab Rural Support Programme (PRSP) and Kissan Ittehad fell unconscious on Thursday during protest outside the Punjab Assembly.

The protest is ongoing for over 24 hours at Charing Cross.

Employees of the rural programme said that they served the people for over 12 years and they are being handing over unemployment in return. As many as 5,500 employees of the programme are worried over suspected termination.

According to the protesters, the government is adamant to terminate their contracts instead of hiring them on permanent basis. The protesters said that they would continue to protest until the government takes a decision in their favour.

On the other hand, farmers have demanded cheaper in cost electricity, solution to unavailability of packaging material, fair price of wheat and a subsidy on fertilizers.
