LAYYAH (Dunya News) – Case about consumption of poisonous sweets that left more than 30 people dead in Chak-105 has finally found closure as brother of the shop owner confessed to have poisoned the confection, Dunya News reported Friday.

Khalid, shop owner Tariqs younger brother admitted adding poison to the sweets seeking revenge because he was fed up of the beating.

According to the details, confession of the 18-year-old has been penned down by the magistrate. Khalid stated that Tariq used to torture and insult him on every trivial thing.

He said that he resorted to an extreme act to destroy his elder brothers business. Police have recovered a bottle of poison from the fields on Khalid’s identification.

Over 30 killed include eight brothers and four others of the same family. Many of the victims are still under treatment in hospitals.

Disabled resident of the aforementioned village had bought sweets to celebrate his grandsons birth.
