ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The senior leadership of opposition parties on Tuesday has shown consent over a four-point agenda for joint meeting over Panama leaks issue to be held on May 2 .

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) have agreed on some points regarding Terms of Reference (TORs) of the investigation commission formed to probe into the Panama Leaks.

The parties would present their suggestions for TORs in scheduled joint session on May 2.

Opposition has mutually accepted to authorize the judicial commission according to new law as the parties think that commission would be inefficient if it will follow 1956 Act.

Leaders further accepted to issue presidential ordinance first and then form legislature.

They have also shown unity over commission’s decision to investigate Panama leaks from Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s family and then from other 250 Pakistanis.

Earlier, PPP leader Khursheed Shah and PTI’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi telephoned chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq and discussed new Terms of Reference (TORs) of the investigation commission formed to probe into the Panama Leaks.

On the occasion, Siraj-ul-Haq pledged to do everything to take the national assets back to country.

On April 24, JI staged sit-in at Lahore’s Mall Road against corruption and announced to hold countrywide protests against corruption from May 1 onwards.

JI chief said that Leader of the Opposition was told that the Terms of References (TORs) related to the investigation of the matter will be consulted with the opposition, however the government made TORs on its own.

On the other hand, PTI under Imran Khan’s supervision held rally at F-9 Park in Islamabad on the same day.

PTI chairman Imran Khan said that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif will have to go as he has no moral authority to rule the country any longer, adding that he will head towards Lahore next Sunday and will announce a new strategy in regards to the Panama Leaks investigation.
