Summary Commission to be set up in a day or two, will comprise forensic and financial experts
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Government has completed the consultation process on the formation of Panama Leaks commission and the announcement of the commission is expected in a day or two. The commission will be led by a retired judge and comprise forensic and financial experts, reported Dunya News.
According to details, Prime Minister had announced forming an inquiry commission on Panama Leaks while addressing the nation after Panama Leaks had hit the media by a storm last week. Sources told Dunya News that the government has completed the consultation process in this regard and the commission will be formed soon. However, it will be an inquiry commission, not a judicial commission.
The commission will be headed by a retired judge while other experts will also be included in it. The experts will include chartered accountants, forensic experts, civil society and lawyers. The names of the experts are being finalised in consultation with the Opposition parties while the opposition parties will also be consulted on the Terms of Reference.
The inquiry commission will probe into the Panama Leaks and the cases of the politicians found guilty by the commission will be referred to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
