LAHORE (Dunya News) – The traditional Azme Pakistan parade will be the mega event of the Pakistan Day celebrations that will be held at Liberty Chowk in Lahore today (Wednesday).

The parade along with other scheduled programs will be started at 2:30 pm.

The fervent people from all walks of life along with children, families and especially youth have already started to visit the venue to ensure their participation in much-awaited parade.

According to sources, more than 100 drummers will demonstrate their talent while the tallest man and woman will also attend the ceremony.

The zealous riders with their astonishing heavy bikes would also amuse the spectators whereas other floats depicting culture of all provinces including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit–Baltistan, and Balochistan have also been arranged.

The organizers and management officials have stated that the purpose of holding Azme Pakistan parade is to entertain the visitors with passion of patriotism.

On this occasion, security measurements have also been tightened up by deploying more than 8,000 police personnel at various spots.

The officers are on continuous patrolling to avoid any untoward situation.

Various political, social, religious, cultural and educational organizations have also arranged functions to highlight different aspects of the struggle for Pakistan and lives of our founding fathers.

Earlier, decorated contingents of Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) lined up in Shakarparian Ground for Pakistan Day Parade in presence of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif.

The day dawned with 31-gun salute at the federal capital and 21-gun salutes at the provincial capitals. Special prayers were offered after Fajr prayers for the security, progress and solidarity of the country.
