Summary 40 MQM workers tortured in prison to switch their loyalties, 40 pressured to sign affidavits

KARACHI: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr Farooq Sattar has on Sunday said that a conspiracy is being hatched to break MQM up. He alleged that 40 MQM workers were being tortured inside prisons to switch their loyalties and they were pressured to sign affidavits, reported Dunya News.

In a press conference held at MQM Headquarters Nine-Zero, Sattar said that state apparatus was being used to pressure those helpless prisoners and their loyalties were being bought.

Demanding investigation into the matter from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Farooq Sattar said that the conspiracy was now clear. He added that the process was affecting the credibility of national institutions and an inquiry into the matter would bring the objectives behind this conspiracy to the fore.

The MQM leader said that MQM’s Sindh Assembly members were receiving calls from unknown numbers to change their loyalties.
