Summary Terrorists revealed they had planned a mortar attack on airport's hangar but missed the target.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Terrorists of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Al-Qaeda Bar-e-Sagheer arrested from Karachi have revealed new information. Prime suspects Naeem Bukhari and Farooq Bhatti alias Musna, involved in the attack on Karachi’s Quaid-e-Azam International airport last year, confessed to the onslaught on Friday.
According to the details, the terrorists apprehended by intelligence officials, revealed during the interrogation that they had plotted a mortar attack on the airport’s Isphania hangar in August last year.
The suspects came from Gulshan Hadeed area on a motorcycle to Pehlewan Goth area. They then proceeded to fire the mortars while being situated in the backyard of a private university. The rusted mortars however missed their targets.
The interrogation also revealed that apprehended terrorist Bhatti wanted to join the army and even underwent tests for admission.
On information by the terrorists, officials also recovered the mortar from the backyard of the university.
