Summary A four-member committee has been formed to look into the matter.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Health Department on Tuesday has decided to take services of government hospitals’ professors in emergency and outdoor patient department (OPD).

According to details, the hospitals are suffering a lot due to absence of senior doctors as several patients have lost their lives.

Keeping in view the alarming situation, health department has approached senior professors to combat the issue.

Secretary of Specialized Health and Medical Education Anjum Ahmed Shah has formed a four-member committee under the supervision of King Edward Medical College Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Faisal Masood.

The committee will prepare a report regarding senior professors’ daily routine after which the duties in OPD, emergency, operation theatre and wards would be managed.

No law has been made so far for the accountability of doctors while the Medical Superintendents (MS) and principals also don’t interfere in different matters.

However, the patients are irked by the non-serious attitude of junior doctors.
