While addressing a press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat on Thursday party’s deputy convener, Dr Sattar had said that workers would consider staging sit-ins after the four-day strike.
It should be mentioned here that a day before announcing hunger strike, MQM’s rabita committee had asked the locals to “stock up food at homes for coming 15 days as something big is likely to happen.”

Media was barred from covering Altaf Hussain’s statements and addresses around six months ago however, Sattar said that decision pertaining to length of the ban was not decided by the authorities. Dr Sattar called for lifting the ban under Article 19 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
Altaf’s media blackout was ordered by Lahore High Court (LHC) in September 2015 by after his controversial, allegedly seditious speech against state institutions and Pakistan Army.
