(Web Desk) - Ambassador Tariq Iqbal Soomro, received the first batch of humanitarian assistance sent by the Government of Pakistan for the earthquake affected people of Gorno-Badakshan region of Tajikistan Thursday.
The consignment was handed over to Ziyodulloev Sohibjon, Deputy Minister of the Agency on State Material Reserves of the Republic of Tajikistan at a ceremony organized by the Agency.
The first batch of relief assistance is part of the one million dollar humanitarian assistance comprising wheat, winterized kits and tents announced by the Government of Pakistan for the 07 December earthquake affected population of Gorno-Badakshan region of Tajikistan.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Tajikistan thanked the Government and the people of Pakistan for this gift and said that Tajikistan greatly valued its friendship with Pakistan.
