Summary Railways Minister said the institution is bound to collapse if trade unions dealing the matters

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has on Monday told the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) committee that had come to meet him that calling him would be easy but getting rid of him won’t be as simple. He said that an institution being run by trade unions is bound to collapse, reported Dunya News.

Talking to media at Railway Headquarters in Lahore, Saad Rafique said that PIA matters are in this situation today because of trade unions, not the administration. He said that he is happy that PIA Joint Action Committee called him “but I am a strict person. I have told them that if a union is being run by trade unions, it is bound to collapse.

Talking about the engines imported from China, Rafique said that inquiry will certainly be done if the engines imported from China don’t work. He said that China is a very dear friend but accountability will be done if the engines are bought even from their companies. He told that out of the 29 engines bought, 16 have been grounded and soon Chinese company’s experts and Railway engineers will either fix them or replace them. He said that the agreement on new engines will only be made once the matter of these engines is resolved.
